A new Range Rover comes with a wealth of connective technology. If you connect your phone to the Touch Pro™ Duo infotainment system, it expands your connective capabilities even further. That begs the question: How do I connect my phone to my Range Rover?
Our team at Land Rover Solon has the answer so you can keep all your favorite apps and music at your fingertips as you cruise through Solon, Cleveland, or Hudson, OH.
How to Connect to Bluetooth® in My Range Rover
Connecting your phone to your Range Rover via Bluetooth® is simple. You should start by making sure your phone is compatible. The latest version of the technology is Bluetooth® 5.0, but most modern smartphones should have a later version that could also be compatible with your SUV.Once you make sure your phone is compatible, go to its "Settings" or "Utilities" and enable Bluetooth®. Continue by following these steps:Navigate to your phone's available Bluetooth® devices section
- Select your Range Rover vehicle's in-car system
- Enter the PIN provided
- Select "Pair"
- Once the system confirms the pairing, Bluetooth® is enabled
What can you do once your phone is connected? You'll be able to make and receive phone calls and even send texts-all while keeping both hands safely on the wheel. You can also wirelessly stream your favorite tunes directly from your most popular playlists.
How to Integrate My Smartphone
What kind of smartphone do you have? The Range Rover gives you two options when it comes time to integrate it with the infotainment system: You can either use Android Auto™ or Apple CarPlay®.The first time you connect to your Range Rover with either system, you'll need to have your device connected to Bluetooth®, so you're already one step ahead of the game. To connect your phone wirelessly, you'll follow similar steps for both systems. They are:
- Make sure your corresponding app is up to date
- Connect your phone with a USB cable into the USB port
- Follow the on-screen prompts
- Tap Android Auto™ or Apple CarPlay® on your display
- Give the wireless connection a moment to establish
Once your phone is connected, you'll have access to a whole new level of capability. You'll be able to operate your favorite apps right through the Touch Pro™ Duo touchscreen display. If using an iPhone with Apple CarPlay®, you can also now use voice recognition to ask Siri questions or give commands.
How Does InControl® Apps™ Work in My Range Rover?
InControl® Apps™ is just one more way you can connect your phone to your Range Rover. You'll need to start by downloading the Land Rover InControl® App. It's available with most smartphones.Once you've downloaded the app and your phone is connected to Bluetooth® in your Range Rover, you'll need to do the following:
- Select InControl® Apps™ on the touchscreen
- Select View (no audio) or View and listen
- Carefully read the instructions on screen and press "Start"
- Approve the pop-up on your mobile handset
- Press the home button on your vehicle screen
- Approve the pop-up on your mobile handset one more time
After InControl® Apps™ is connected to your SUV, you'll be able to download apps directly to the infotainment system and operate some from your phone while away from your vehicle. You'll also get InControl® Remote & Protect™, which lets you check fuel levels, find your car in a crowded parking lot, and more-all from the handy smartphone app.
